Dean Wendy Perdue

Dean’s Letter

Looking back and looking ahead

This is my final message to you as dean of Richmond Law and one that I write with a combination of pride in what we have accomplished together and excitement about where we are headed.

Over the last 15 years, I had a front-row seat to the extraordinary community that is Richmond Law. During this time, one truth has remained constant: Our strength rests in our people.

Our faculty continue to shape national conversations. Our students bring intelligence and heart to their studies and service. And our alumni demonstrate, year after year, what it means to lead with integrity and purpose.

Together, we have accomplished so much. In this issue, we’ll look back on some of the achievements we’ve celebrated, challenges we’ve navigated, initiatives we’ve launched, and people who have made a lasting impact on our community.

As I prepare to step down as dean, I do so with tremendous optimism. The law school is strong. Our programs continue to evolve to meet the needs of a changing profession. Our students are thriving. And our alumni network is more engaged than ever.

Though my role is changing, my belief in Richmond Law and its future is unwavering. I am excited for what comes next for the law school and grateful beyond words to have been part of its story.
